tl;dr All good things must come to an end.
There is no easy way to say this.
Effective now, I am pausing the grand LeagueMath.com experiment. To everyone who read, who laughed, who cried, who learned, and especially those who thought critically; I love you so much. In the immortal words of GLaDOS, this was a triumph.
I will leave the site up for the time being. I am personally interested to see how the information ages. Will the insights here remain useful? Will they go stale? Are some of the earlier ones already waining? The cost at the margin of delivering these pages to you is quite low, so I can afford to keep doing it for the time being.
Some will say it was because I ran out of ideas. They will be wrong. The notion of doing basic science on the rules and public data of League of Legends goes deep and wide. I have some preliminary numbers and ideas for articles that far outnumber those I have posted here over the last 11 months. Does having more smites on your team correlate with winning? Someone go figure it out. Then tease out tertiary variables and make some attractive plots. Write some clever-ish long form content around it. I want to read it.
I would do it myself, but I am out of time.
I am sure we will meet again soon. I believe this moment is only a door. When it closes, another opens. If I cared to imagine tomorrow; I would imagine a door opening, and behind it I would find you there.
Only the hopes and dreams of LeagueMath.com fans were harmed in the making of this particular article (Sorry!).
